First of all: I know Elektra guy since old times and I'm sure he got more fame than you bro but that's not the point. Anyway I don't get it why you people don't understand that ug+eruption gives you free 20-30 sec of holding.. seriously have u ever played against that in HOH it's 10 times better than fire ele which is used in meta build.
You're talking about mesmer rupting your ele, just stay out of range that ain't hard...if mesmer overextends your axe war will kill him np.
Anyway... camping in Anti-melee Areas???? What the hell does that mean anyway?

Pretty sure Fierce has more fame, since he all day every day'd the past 2 years with WoOm.
Also sure that Fierce, in general, still has alot to learn how Guild Wars works. He's a good HA balanced player, and he understand how HA balanced works reasonably well, but he doesn't know how Guild Wars works. (But I have no doubt he thinks he knows how Guild Wars works)
Elektra hasn't played in the past 2 years and is now trying to "teach" everyone his godly ways. Even then, I don't even remember him from 2 years ago, but knowing he played with you, Anna, I don't have high hopes he's actually an experienced non-shitway player. (I could be wrong though)
I find it amusing that they're arguing over 2 bars which can't be compared. Fire does more damage (Which Fierce constantly tries to deny, whereas cold hard numbers simply can't be fought) and Earth has more utility. (Which the opposition tries to wave off as ineffective)
The essence of the discussion is wether or not Earth is more effective in HoH or not. Given the fact that there is 3 different maps, and over a douzen builds (and possible counters or anti-counters), there is no definite anwser. However, in overal fire aoe will simply get the better results, which is why everyone has been running it, I don't know, the past 3 years.
The initial role of the elementalist in balanced was to dish out AoE and punish people for balling up. Up to this day, that role hasn't changed, and any extra defence you can add is a nice extra. However, if that defence comes at the cost of your offence (which was the initial point of bringing an ele), you should think twice about the changes your trying to push through.
Untill the day they nerf Rodgorts invocation (and to a less extend SH), fire aoe will be the king of nukes, and anything else can only be concidered a shadow of the former. This is, again, if the role of the elementalist is to dish out damage. (Which is exactly that in HA)

As I said before earth ele>fire ele in HOH but ok I'm not gonna discuss anymore with people who don't understand the basics of the game.
About Elektra guy... he played with me.. idk maybe 2-3 times and I can tell you that he's one of those "honor build" players and I'm not taking his side here just stating the facts.
In other maps earth is just a little bit weaker but more defense makes up for it. Anyway balance is hoh holding build not map farming so earth ele would be normal choice during 3way HOH hours. During 2way HOH hours it doesn't matter if u have fire or earth ele because build itself is pretty much free win.

Point is many opponents will be either Bbway , either Wota , and i'm almost sure than after a few secs , earth ele will be camped 24/7 and will have some problems to cast skills. If you consider aswell than then a warrior will have to go kill spirits if they are not rupted ...
Apart of that , yes i don't think aswell the build matters much on hall 1v1 since you're blue ( koth : auto win if you don't have dc / relic : red way can be blocked easily / cap pts : common 3man gank tactic working every time.. )

u can say earth is slightly better in holding if ur playing alot of bbsways but its gonna be worse in the other 2 maps esp if ur doing 1v1s which is probably the case now 90% of the time. i really cannot see a earth ele taking out a holding team 1v1. its hard enough as it is with a fire ele if they are any decent and u would want maximum offense in 1v1 situations.
and have u ever taken into account spirits in halls and in general play. fire eles can handle teams with spirits alot better.
the fact is if u add up the numbers earth ele doesnt come close in halls.
discussion should end here rlly

Accidentally my account.
Rather than list every skill in the game I just said "anti-melee area" if you don't know what that means, go to dictionary.com
I already explained this...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/anti
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/melee
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/area
I'll spell it out to you, if there's a ward against melee, there is an area on the map that is anti-melee. Same with UG. My point was that UG is over rated because while you're standing in it who's to say that the oppositions warriors won't just pull out and you get roasted? :} I'm sure you'll just quote ONE SPECIFIC EXAMPLE forgetting that there are other maps and not just one :>.
Also, for someone "balanced" you're not really looking at it from a very balanced perspective. There are more builds than just BBSway and so forth. You seriously think that fire doesn't have any advantages for others? :>

earth ele is for boring defensive play with long recharges and long casts and fire ele is for pure dmg with shorter recharges and shorter casts.
so fire ele wins and thats why most ppl have been playing that for the past 3 years. Some ppl like to take and earth ele instead of the ranger but thats only if they dont have any good rangers online or dont know any1 who can play a godly ranger.

this. And i really do not believe that 99% of Guild Wars PvP Players don't play Balanced with earth Ele because they never tried it.

this one made me laugh so hard. A retarded monkeybrain that can't play 1 decent build is gonna say to others that they don't know the basics of the game

I am sorry but there isn't any decent build ran since few months ( 3 builds usually ran , common balanced , bbway and wota way , all being more or less good , depending hour of the day)
Back to the thread , i don't understand what do u mean by camping in anti-melee areas : is it like , standing in ward ..?

Are all of you people braindamaged or something? To make it redicilously obvious:

Ok, for those who still don't get it (And I'm seeing an awefull lot of familiar people from MATH, eB or other gimmickway HA guilds): ANTI MELEE AREA means an area where melee is useless.
Unsteady Ground, Eruption, Ward against melee, Ward of Stability (to a lesser extend).
It means that in these areas, the opposing team's melee (Dervishes, sins, warriors) are next to useless because they're either blind, knocked down or getting blocked.
